Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance Game Release
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. The upcoming third-person action role-playing game developed by Tuque Games coming out this June.
There are so many games to look forward to this year. However, Wizards of the Coast made a few people even more excited specifically about this summer with their announcement for their upcoming RPG Game Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. We all know that summer has always been the best time for game releases and Wizards of the Coast never fail to satisfy their faithful followers.
Although there was a long period of the company being secretive about its release, they finally decided to announce the good news. The game is developed by Tuque Games and it’s coming out on June 22 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. You can already pre-order it on the website for $39.99 / €39.99 / £33.49.
In addition, for all the collectors out there, there’s a “retail-exclusive steelbook edition for $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99. It includes a steelbook case, a printed art book, a downloadable Dungeons & Dragons soundtrack, a Beholder and Lich weapon set. Also, just in case you want to be prepared, you’ll also get the forthcoming DLC “Echoes of the Blood War“. However, even if you just decide to get the Digital Deluxe Edition, or if you just pre-order it, you’ll be able to receive an exclusive in-game Beholder weapon set at launch.
The Game
That is to say, the inspiration behind the game was the new sourcebook that was launched last September for Dungeons and Dragons; Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. The game is basically a reboot of the 2001 Dungeons and Dragons video game, but this time they promised to make it right. Moreover, you can still expect the cultish vibe, the hack-and-slash element in combat, the many options of choosing between pre-set characters etc.
Most importantly, Dark Alliance is going to be the first game in history that is actually published by Wizards of the Coast. Like Baldur’s Gate III, the company always preferred to license out their ideas to third party developers. However, this time with the help of Tuque Games, Dark Alliance is going to break the mould of that.
In conclusion, the co-op, multiplayer spirit which reminds us of the classic tabletop version of the game is still going to be there, however, there is also a single-player option. Certainly, it’s going to be more enjoyable to play with other people. So what are you waiting for? Gather your party, explore dungeons and start slaying monsters!
